what do to in paris with your bestie!!!
week 4 (ish) in paris - had my first visitor, my BFF, and we had the best girliest couple of days, some perfect ideas of what to do w/ your girls in pari!
Hi hi!!
I am just having the most fun ever Substacking this summer!! I really am loving sharing all my recs with you guys so I hope you are enjoying them <3 Being here overall, I feel that I have had so much more time to just BE. Life moves slower here and it has been so good for my mental health and has really just taught me to live every day in the moment. Just some reflecting as I enter another month of this fabulous adventure.
Last week before we went to Antibes, Lea came to Paris for a few days and we had such a great time. It was so fun having a visitor and also a familiar friend to do all of the classic, girly Paris things with. I feel like we honestly had the perfect itinerary for anyone looking to plan a girls weekend in Paris! So let’s get into it!!! (btw a few of these are repeats from some of my previous posts, but I love going back to the places I love!!!!)
It was HOT af last week in Paris, as it is this week - literally hit 100 degrees today and I am currently sitting with the fan blowing on my face. But, sometimes I feel like it is better when you have an agenda in the heat, like nothing will stop you from your day, you know? We started off on Monday evening with a bite and catch up at Cafe Charlot, basic but always hits and the perfect place to give someone that immediate, fun, cool Parisian vibe.
On Tuesday morning we woke up and decided to put on matching polka dot slip dresses and Chanel ballet flats - don’t you just love being a girl!? Lea really wanted to shop today, so that is exactly what we did. We went too hard too fast. We hit the golden triangle - as I am now going to refer it to. Bobby (the one on Rue du Temple), and then Chez Snow Bunny around the corner, and then another turn to Nuovo (and others, there are like 5 back to back, but Nuovo is def the best). We both did quite well. I left with a vintage crochet piece (as seen in Antibes lol) and tops by Blumarine, Ralph Lauren, and Dolce. Lea got two epic Dolce pieces and a gorgeous black Eres dress and Armani top. After SWIPE swipe SWIPING, we looked at each other and were like we can’t step in another store. It’s just too dangerous. No, but truly the stores here are so good I just have to remove myself. But unfortunately the sales are going on in France right now, so like idk man, I’m just never going to stop. ANYWAYS, we then headed over to La Grand Epicerie - which is the most dreamy grocery store. It is I guess the grocery store of Le Bon Marche (right across from there too) - a friend of mine here had recommended it when I first moved, and right when I stepped in, I was like Lea needs to come here. She is a major foodie and epic connoisseur of a good spread. It was a little out of the way to come here, but we felt like it was worth it. They have everything there from a bakery, cheese counter, meat counter, fresh produce section, etc etc, it is DREAMY. We took our spread to the grass right outside the Louvre, this is the dreamiest spot to set up. Call your uber to the Tuileries Garden and then there is a grassy area with a view of the Eiffel Tower, Ferris Wheel (in the summer), the Louvre, just so quintessential gorg Paris. We sat for a couple hours and just layed and then took the metro home. I’ve been taking the metro a good amount - but nothing compares to the convenience of NYC tbh. Paris is such a great walking city, but some things are really far from each other and I think either the metro or biking (which I have yet to try because I’m a scaredy cat, but also really want to) are the best options. We obviously put on our new purchases and then headed to dinner - we hit Le Petit Lutetia, which you guys know is one of my favorite spots ever. I actually think it is a MUST spot if you are coming on a trip to Paris. It is what I like to call the perfect “boujee bistro” - feels chic, but also has that classic Parisian bistro vibe. Menu is freaking DELICIOUS - get the steak and the rigatoni. Oh and the tuna tartare. AND the chocolate mousse It is on the most beautiful street and it’s just going to give you the exact Parisian vibe you want, trust me on that.
We slept in on Wed - I have to admit I have been sleeping in SO much here. Because the sun sets so late here, it feels like all of my days are shifted up a few hours, and I like staying up late and enjoying the summer nights of Paris - even if I’m just sitting in my apartment, it is impossible to get into bed with the gorgeous view of the sunset. I like to chill on the couch and soak it all in. Anyways, we woke up on this day so indecisive, like we could not decide our vibe for the life of us. But somehow we ended up on L’Avenue for lunch. A little fancy, but I wasn’t mad about it. We both decided to wear like baby heels on this day for some reason and it was 95 degrees and were so uncomfortable. L’Avenue is honestly always a great vibe, it’s in the fancier area of Paris, so the people watching is really fun. Near all the designer stores, so you literally see the hostesses handing people huge Hermes bags that they checked as they walked out. This is a celeb hot spot - we were sitting across from Belinda’s son from White Lotus LOLOL. But def worth a little splurge for that fun, fancy vibe and the menu is SOOOO good - so many options, great for lunch or dinner. After that, we took the metro to the Marais, where we attempted to walk around and shop, but it was just so damn hot. We did get some good products at the pharmacie, I got a Caudalie body wash I’m obsessed with. We stopped in some vintage pop ups on Rue du Turenne on our way home. Tonight’s dinner was at a new spot for me, Le Bon Georges. 10/10 recommend. It’s in such a great neighborhood, I love the 9th and need to spend more time there. Another great bistro vibe, steak is delish as well. It started pouring rain the second we got there and we were eating outside undercover so it was just a really fun little moment.
That just about sums it up :) I guess really all we did was eat and shop, but is there anything better!?
I will catch you guys next week with a roundup of my recs from this week and then my weekend trip to Ibiza. Have an amazing holiday weekend - omg I just realized it’s the 4th of July and TBH I’ve never been happier to not be in America. But anyways, hope you all have the best time doing whatever you are doing !
Xoxo,
Soco <3
